CDC were commissioned to deliver a Cat III containment laboratory suite within the Heinz Wolff Building of Brunel University. This provides the Centre for Infection, Immunity/and Disease Mechanisms, School of Health Sciences with a CAT III and CAT II Research Facility.

Scope of Work

CDC Ltd were employed as a specialist’s contractor for a complete design and build cleanroom/containment facility incorporating:
• Demolition and alterations to building structure
• Construction of new block work walls incl structural supports
• Plastered wall finishes c/w armouglaze gel coat fibre glass
• Plasterboard ceilings
• Stainless Steel Framed triple glazed window
• Stainless Steel mesh to walls security
• New Isocrete floor screed
• New Resin floor c/w resin coved skirting
• Laboratory luriditure, hunching, cupboards, coat hooks and mirror
• Autoclave
• New roof mounted Air Handling Unit
• Supply ductwork from AHU into corridor ceiling void

• PVC extract ductwork systems from Safety Cabinets
• LPHW pipework to AHU
