Queen Elizabeth Hospitals Birmingham

Introduction

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is run by the university hospital Birmingham NHS foundation trust, UHB is the West Midlands best-performing trust and is in the top 20 of hospitals.

CDC was commissioned to carry out an upgrade of the main pharmacy aseptic suite due to the current required standards set by the MHRA. Works were to be carried out during a ‘2 week’ shutdown period to minimise the disruption to the pharmacy department operations and logistics. Due to several trades having to gain access to the work area and such a short programme period, CDC had to undertake a very tight programme period with no room for delays.

CDC completed all works to the Pharmacy aseptic suite on time and within budget. At present, the trust is currently building a new £343 million super hospital.
